Well, hello there world

So I heard that you look good on the dance floor

I am a third year Anthropology major. I've wanted to be an archaeologist since I was in grade three, and believe it or not, my interest in the field was not first inspired by Indiana Jones. I actually never saw those movies until I was in my late teens, which is completely bizarre for my generation. I'm a curious soul, always have been. Just cant keep my nose out of anything. It also haunts me, how short the memory of humans really is. We never look back, and I cant help but feeling we've been tripping around in circles for thousands of years. Technology changes, but people don't- at least, that's what I've seen. I'm finding that I may actually not end up as an archaeologist, but who knows? anything can happen.

So a little more about myself. I'm 21 years old, currently, and engaged to be married in May of this year to my fiancee of 7 years. We met when I was 14. I collect ball jointed dolls, I knit, I cook, I play video games, and my greatest passion in life is reading.  Fantasy books have dominated that category for the most part, but as I grow I continually branch out. I suppose that's true about everything in my life.

I created this blog as a requirement for my Anthropology 397 class at UVIC. I've never managed to keep a journal before in my entire life, so this will be an interesting experience.
